I think it would be cool if we (the youth) had our own forumn of our own to converse and give each other ideas and help others our own age.

I had the same idea. It's a good one.

Yeah, I'd love to see this too.
It's very different performing for young peers than stage shows, street magic, tabble hopping, etc. |

I'm neither for or against you guys getting a special forum but I'm curious.

Well being a young magician has its difficulties and they can be discussed in this forum. What are the difficulties? Performing for young peers, performing for adults and being able to break the kid barrier with them, theres much more similar topics that could be discussed in this possible forum.

Hey guys.
I think even if you get a "Youth" section in the forum.. the young at heart are still going to post and read! |

We'll that's good too. Even the young at heart were physically young once (believe it or not). So they could maybe have some good information.

I'm guessing that audience management when the magician is young and the audience is not might pose special problems that would not apply to others....?

Definitely the audience management thing - peers are out to find out how you did it... And will go to far greater lengths to do than someone at a dinner table would.
As sjballa said... The older generation will be able to offer helpful tips and advice which the younger of us will only be experimenting with! Even just a place for young magicians to share experiences and discuss how we're getting on moving up in the world of magic! |

I think that this is a good idea but it does present some problems. Specifically safety problems like with MySpace.

While a youth specific forum sounds good and has been suggested several times in the past, I'm afraid it just isn't going to happen, at least for now.
There are just too many safety issues to worry over - just because someone claims to be a young person does not always mean that person is telling the truth. Remember, as close as this online community is, we still are dealing with the internet and all the hazards such a global connection often presents. However, I do appreciate the suggestions and will keep such a project for possible future application. Thanks everyone.
