Hi guys!
I have 2 infos to ask you! Number one: Do you know anyone who could paint or reproduce drawings on a sharkstooth scrim? Number 2: What is the name of the system that allows a big curtain to be taken off as if it was "swallowed" by a vaccuum cleaner? I mean, you see the curtain, then it is kind of released and it is pulled backstage or side stage... Anyone can help me with these 2 questions?! Thanks and happy New Year to you all! |

Have a look at google for "bigimage" and "digitalprinting". There are several supplier of theatrical backgrounds that can print that size. I also know a flag company in Germany (Fahnen Koch) to be able to print complete flags from a big digital printer.
The other effect you are looking for should be "Kabuki" from the theatrical supplier Gerriets. Lots of greetings Kai Abrell |

To reprint on sharkstooth try Rosebrand NY. or The manufacturer Roscoe. Both have done ecellent work for me in the past. that gives you a more durable finsih Than working with a scenic artist. If budget is a problem go to your nearest college theater deptartment they should have a tech theater student who is trained and capable to do the job. Just see some of their work before Hiring them.

I did some looking and could find the exact system for removing the curtain. IOt sounds like a custom make. again try Talking to the folks at Rosebrand They may be able to help or to refer you to someone They are very good and Very creative. other curtain and scenic goods companies I have dealt with have not given me the service these folks have.

Maybe someone could help find this source. There was an ad in the magic rags that was offering custom or semi custom digital backdrops for affordable prices.
They were offering magic posters repros but also did non magic as well so I think they should still be around. |
