I claim no originality for this minor tweak, but offer it in the spirit of "spontaneous generation." You Magi more informed than I are welcome to help trace its lineage:

Usually having half-dollars, I often do a quick French Drop and reappearance of the half (often using the coin to pay for coffee, etc). It's a fun bit that often elicits a satisfying response. Lately, however, I've reproduced the coin from the elbow adjacent to the hand from which it vanished...by "pulling" the coin from a fold in the skin (just pinch a bit of skin next to the coin). The effect is that the coin is dug out of the arm, leading to a grinning "eeeewwwww" reaction from the spectator.
