Has anyone ordered the NEW electronic version of Hot Leads from Jim Pace. I have the regular Hot Leads and love it, but I was wondering what the pro's and con's of the electronic version were. Any help would be appreciated. Also, below is the link to this new trick.

Thanx,

Hi Fabian,
Hmmm, I thought that I had just emailed you regarding the electric version.
It must have been some one else with the same question.
The Electric Hot Leads uses Flash Paper and must be re loaded with each use, so it is not for everybody. I used to market this wallet as the Afterburn many years ago.
It seemed that the re loading was a negative selling point.
Well,
I had so many request to put it back onto the market that I did. Only this time it comes with two batterie, $5 cheaper, and a better wallet.
I should also say that the effetct looks very magical, and no click soud. Just a pfffwoosh.

Hey Jim, thanks for the reply!!! Smile

OK, sounds good. I love my current one, and I like the idea of having multiple cards ready, not to mention the flame is pretty big until I blow it out.

Question for you, after my card burns I'm left with a plastic like layer on the bag of the card. is this because I let it burn to much?

Thanks again.

No, it's because you're using laminated cards, which it clearly says in the instructions not to use.

I'm actually not using laminated cards. I'm using linen textured cards. Essentially, I'm left with a film after burning.

In any case, it's got to be due to a coating of some kind. There's nothing from the wallet that could leave a coating on the cards. .. do you soak the cards in lighter fluid with this version the same as you do with Hot Leads ?

Hey Mystician, I didn't want to say lighter fluid, but since you did. I'm wondering if I soke too much, because this layer or film I'm talking about, is definitely caused by the lighter fluid. I'm just wondering if I use too much, or let it burn too long.

The Hot Leads directions say to soak 1/4 of the card in LF. I, however have soaked as much as 1/2 of the card. It produces a huge flame, which I can still control. This gets a bigger reaction as well. Try different things and find what works for you the best.

I also soak half the card and it's way more impressive and more reliable. If you let it burn a few seconds there should not be any residual fuel. I agree with Mystician, if you are having a residue problem it is most likely caused by the cards themselves.

I'll try some different cards, and see what happens.
