This booklet of tricks came out about a year and a half ago, I think. Anyway, it was originally just a hardcopy booklet. Now it's available as a PDF from full52.com. I just purchased it and highly recommend it. The download is only $13 which I think is a real bargin and significantly cheaper than the hard copy which I think sells for about $20. It's only 14 pages so printing it up isn't that big of a deal.
The booklet basically contains 4 quick card effects that can be done impromptu and one bill in marker effect that is almost impromptu and really wonderful. I haven't actually performed any of these effects yet (except for one) but I can already tell that they are going to play great for lay people. Sandwich For Four -- The red aces trap a selection and then instantly trap the three mates. Really good sandwich effect. I love that the second phase happens instantaniously with virtually no moves. One Wild Animal -- Three Jokers transform into three selections. Again, a very practical and clever handling which I think would play very well. Plus I'm a sucker for good impromptu "wild card" type effects. Pip Trip -- A pip is removed from one card and placed on another in order to change it into the selection. This is a great effect. And I should know. I independently created an effect that is almost exactly like this one. Great minds think alike, I guess . Except I like Dave's handling of the last part much better than mine. Quick Split -- One card is split into two selections. Excellent trick and handling. Bill-Ink -- An almost impromptu bill to marker cap. This is a beauty. The revelation of the bill is a stunner. I love this trick and will use it often. Like most great magic creators, David squeezes a lot of good magic out of practical handlings that are well within the grasp of most intermediate magicians. Highly recommended.

Thanks, Andy. It is is a good deal. The reason I'm so enthusiastic is because I keep reading thread after thread hyping lame one trick dvds and PDFs and expensive gimmicks. It's just nice to discover a booklet that contains practical, real world stuff that is well thought out. Even though these are technically quick tricks, David still includes a presentation for them. It's not just "Watch. See. Look..."
Of course, this won't be everyone's cup of tea. But people who perform for real lay people and like card magic will get some good use out of this.

Another winner from Mr Forrest.
Bill-Ink is superb. I've been looking for a practical bill to impossible location effect for a while. I don't need to look any further. This is good. |
