Man...this is driving me crazy. I have been practicing the Malini Egg Bag since last saturday. I am also working tonite, in about 1 hour. Not sure whether to perform it or not...it's killing me! I'm leaning towards performing it, and I just can't decide. I have practiced it night and day, and I feel I have it down, technically and with presentation. Does anyone else perform it in a restaurant? Just want to post this, for whatever it's worth...
Thanks! Steven |

Nobody can decide for you.
If you're not sure about performing then something may be bothering you about the routine. Have you tried it on anyone yet? I'd like to say, "Go for it!" but if you're uncomfortable about something then maybe work on the routine another week or so. Good luck Steven. |

Steven,I can only speak for myself. Many times I am anxious to add a new effect/routine,but I hold off because the feeling just is not right.
I have found that holding off ..and practicing and rehearsing some more until I get that comfortable 'gut' feeling... that I am ready to give it a try..that has alway's worked for me. Some master[I forget who][perhaps Dai Vernon] once said[I paraphrase]..practice a routine 1000 times before performing it publicly. That may sound a bit extreme...but you get the idea. Best. Rich |

Perform it for someone else first. Someone who will be honest with you.

I never used to perform the Egg Bag in strolling situations, but after some encouragment from fellow Café members I finally decided to give it a shot a month or so ago. It went great! Now it's a staple in my strolling repertoire and I love performing it. I say if you've got the technicals and you believe in your performance, give it a shot! Also let us know how it goes.

I didn't perform in last night. I want to so badly, but I didn't. Oh well, I'm definately performing it next saturday. for. sure.
On a better note, I have a little show I am doing today at my friends house, before kick-off. I am planning on doing a chop-cup routine, with an egg being the final load. Then that will lead me perfectly into the malini egg bag. Thanks every, and good luck! (Bears are gonna win!!) Steven |

Jaz is right, no one can decide this for you. My own "rule of thumb" is to practice until I am certain that I know it inside and out, and to rehearse it as if performing until I could do it in my sleep. THEN the timer begins and I practice and rehearse for another month or so.
