I saw the Super Bowl ad with Sales Genie and thought I'd at least go to their web site. They offer mailing lists. You can spend $90/mo and get as many mailing lists you want, or spend $180/mo and get as much as you want plus some extra bonuses. My question is, has anyone tried salesgenie.com or infousa.com for mailing lists? If so, how was the mailing?

Is "mo" per month?

Not to show my disdain for the company, but infoUSA SUCKS! I bought a daycare mailing list from them as a test...and it was pitiful. I wound up tossing it and pulling my own list from phone books in the library. I'm not familiar with Sales Genie, but I'll never go near infoUSA again.

"Mo" is month, and Sales Genie is a subsidiary of infoUSA. My Mom is a Principal at a local elementary school. I looked it up just to see how accurate it was, and it was right on. I'm not looking for schools, but it does seem to be right on. I have used infoUSA in the past, and it stinks! However, I got a different feeling from Sales Genie. I'll try it out for $90, see how well it works, and let you guys know!

Their radio ads say they will give you 100 sales leads free.
My question is, are these qualified leads or just a list? By qualified, I mean does the list contain people or companies that are looking for what you are selling?

InfoUSA has been pretty good for me. However, the prices on their CDs have gone through the roof. I was using power business.
I did see the ad during the Super Bowl, and I forgot all about it. Thanks, Ken |

The leads they do provide are qualified. Do yourself a favor and sign up for the free trial. It really is free and pretty good. I've called a few companies, asked who was in charge of planning meetings and events, and their names matched up.

What database do you look through?

I've had no problems with infoUSA. It is just a business listing, and you can get a list bare bones or fairly extensive. The lists are NOT qualified. In other words, infoUSA does not go out and provide you with a list that is looking for a magician, singer, or whatever. You have to narrow (target) the list by providing your parameters. I've been using infoUSA for over 5 years and never had a problem. They open right up in Excel and import right into Act!
Ken is correct, their CDs are expensive (because they aren't targeted) for what you get. I looked at Sales Genie a couple years ago, but they seemed too expensive for what I need (I only buy about 3,000 records at a time). 100 leads for free means nothing for me. If it was a perfect list, I'd probably only get 2 shows. My daycare list worked just fine, but I found out there were so many magicians out there doing the shows for cheap (less than $100) that there wasn't much of a market.

I started mailing already, so hopefully something comes up. I find Sales Genie to be very extensive in information. Yes, the list isn't "qualified", but that is my job.
