Thanks for the tip, Kato. That would be less visible.

Just tell youtube that it violates the copyright agreement of the originator of the trick, or tell them that they're using your name ("This 'n That") without your permission, or anything else.. Whatever it takes to get something like this removed. The more popular your demonstration becomes, the worse the exposure..

How many Magicians does it take to advertise a trick? Three.. One to steal the trick. One to steal HIS trick. And one to write a good review.

"Stronger stuff" is an opinion that, while may be shared among magicians, is not necessarily shared among laymen.
I find that Color Monte (done with regular cards) gets as good a reaction as just about any card trick I do. Spectators love it. To them it is strong. That last reveal elicits gasps, "no way", "what the !@#$" and the like. It is a strong trick! Quote: On 2007-02-16 13:48, fooksau wrote:

Nicepaul,
you did post that vid in the first place? SO why are you fishing for opinions here without disclosing that? Frankly, I am a little bit disappointed . . . Andy

I liked the variation. I kind of reminds me of the "Who's on first" skit by Abbot & Costello. Its very different of course, but I like the way the words on the cards refer to the words in the patter "It must be 'that' card."

Kaliix - you're so right. It always surprises me that this "simple" trick is one of the most popular in my routine, compared to tricks which involve whole decks and more complex sleights which magicians often consider to be stronger. I think the video's popularity proves the strength of the trick in the eyes of the layman, despite its simplicity, and shows that some magicians are really out of touch with their audience.
Andy the Cardician - I made no secret about it being my video. You seem to be accusing me of misleading you (as if a magician would do such a thing), yet had I been trying to do so I would have posted the video under a different username to the one I use here. I don't understand why you're so disappointed at all. Kroberge - that's one of my favourite things about it, the comic value of referring to "this" card... no, not that one the other one etc. I like the fact that it keeps the spectator on their toes trying to keep up with the story. They're so busy thinking that they're following what's going on with the first half of the trick that the surprise punchline just blows them away. |

Loads of places stock them, just Google for blank faced bicycle cards.
In reply to earlier posts about asking YouTube to remove the 'revealed' clips: when I do that they ask me to declare upon penalty of perjury that I own the copyright of the material used in those clips. I'm pretty sure I don't as there's no law against other people mimmicking what they saw in my clip, and I certainly wouldn't be able to travel to the US to defend myself in court over it, so I'm not about to declare that. |

Well I'm about to put a vid on youtube and I have gotten so fed up with it that I sometimes disable follow up videos and comments lol or I do the whole "must approve comments" that way if they see my video they wont see a link to its revelation or they wont have a secret revealed in teh comments...
also I liked that version a lot but I NEVER liked the one with the blue and red diamond I like daryls explanation of it ..2 normal cards and a spray painted card so the whole card is lime green or bright yellow as of now I use 2 random cards and a blank face that says "not even close" because I havent painted my card yet DC
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something

Hi Everyone!
Has anyone else been to the pubtricks.com site? I just disagree with classic tricks like card warp and this one being posted on a web site as a solution to be solved. It only serves to encourage "secret seekers" rather than budding magi's. And as for the presentation of "Twisting The Aces" on that site...urrgh. By the way, as a result of this video going on youtube, the inevitable follow up explanation from some 12 year old "expert" appears. I noticed one of the comments on the "explanation" video I found said "hey thanks for the EXPLINATION out of all of the ones I've tried yours is the easiest to understand... I masterd the trick in 5 MINUTES thanks to your vid...thanks alot...LATER " - Mastered it in 5 MINUTES?......It just makes me sick. Justin
