I can't remember the brand name of the cards but I am sure they were not a USPC company brand. By the way the best price I have found on Bicycles is $3.78 for a two pack at Target (in store item). ~John |

Sams Club used to stock a 12 pack of VEGAS brand decks made by Harbro, LLC... anyways, at most sams clubs now you can get 13 packs of bikes for like $15, and costco as well... anyways sometimes walmart has 2 bike decks for 2.97 as well...
On the topic question, If you take good care of your decks, weeks and months is not impossible...
I like cards.

Andy...
In Singapore a popular brand amongst the lay public would be "Aladdin", also from the US playing card company. While they can be used to perform, they lack the Air-Cushion Finish and don't handle very well. Recently they've released the ACF version of the Aladdins, though I've yet to check them out. For some reason, magicians here use mainly Bikes, and they now cost about SGD$6 per deck. If the Aladdins feel good I'll switch to them, seeing as how locally it is the brand lay people recognize.

Thanks Nique, according to my currency converter that would be around 3.9 USD/deck.

Aladdins cost about SGD$3+ here... if the new Aladdins feel the same as the bikes I think I'd definitely switch. Local audiences here relate better to them; they're common here. Then again the ACF Aladdins may have jacked up prices... ah well.

Any insights on how to get the moisture out of the cards, once they are "soaked"?

If I'm lucky, a deck will last two hours as well.

When I am working, I can have a deck last a whole gig. Other times, on a Saturday night and that place is thumpin, I'll normally bust out a new deck halfway through. But I keep both decks, because I just put them back in the fridge for the night and they feel good as new the next time I use them.

I mostly last 1 gig with a deck of cards, people at parties and so on just got sweaty and dirty hands so the cards will get sticky. I also have a deck that I just use to practice with and I replace that offcourse after a while for a new deck. Offcourse don't throw the decks that you used on youre gig, not even if it is missing half of the cards in it by letting people sign it and stuff. Just save them somewhere and wait till you got a few other decks that are not usable and just make new complete or almost complete decks out of it for gigs again, better to use that money on new tricks than buying a new pack of cards while you can make some out of the decks you already used. Atleast this works for me a packet of bicycle cards is 3,50 euro here so not that cheap. Hope this was any use for you.

I use Walgreen Studs so they last a very long time. I have had one last (in perfect working condition) for over 6 months.

For me it depends, I am not a professional magician, for me It's just a hobby so sometimes I buy 4 decks a month and practise and sometimes I can handle a lot of moths without buy a new deck.
For instance despite I love card magic so much It's been two months since the last time I bought a deck of cards, so it reminds me that I should buy a new one this or the next week. Best Regards Pablo

I've started practicing faro shuffles recently, and I'm finding that I'm going through decks much faster than other practice. The edges of the cards are getting beaten up after an hour or two. Is this because I'm perhaps too rough with the faro, riffling the cards to tightly, or is this sort of thing normal?

I keep using them for about a 3 - 4 weeks, depending, for practice. If I was going to do a show I would open a new pack.
