This is a great thread, but I'd like to hear some heavyweights chime in on how to build perceived value with your customer and make it appear that you're a bargain for all they are getting.

While it is easy to think that they didn't like your price, or you were the wrong style, that kind of puts the blame on them for failing to hire you.
What if you thought about things you said, or your attitude, or your trustworthiness, or your likability, or your sales ability, etc., and how that influenced the outcome of the conversation? Sometimes all that went wrong is that you didn't ask for the sale. - Donald

This is a great question. I would like to add my 2 cents. More often these days, in my opinion, the booker is looking for the lowest bid. How I show perceived value is to educate the buyer as to why I am more expensive than the other people they called. I build their trust, starting with the first phone call. It usually works for me!
