They can videotape my show. Maybe a child's friend or another adult might see the video because they could'nt make it to the performance at the Birthday party.
I could possibly get a booking from this. |

Firstly...thanks for your replies. I recently joined another magic forum & had people from that forum message me, telling me I'm wasting my time posting, cos nobody would reply until my post count was large. What a joke. Fortunately this forum appears to be different. Thanks for not excluding me cos I'm new here. I'm fairly new to kids magic, but I'm very serious about it, and I value the opinions of everyone here.
Secondly...back on topic. Some good thoughts have been discussed. I'm starting to think that maybe it's not such a bad idea to let people video the show. May get some extra work from it. Thirdly...off topic again... on this forum, is there a way to get emailed when someone replies to one of my posts? I can't find the option anywhere in the prefs. Most other forums I'm a member of have the option. |

Hi there,
I generally don't like it when people video my show as I feel they may copy it or use it for something other than as a reference of the party. I always try and encourage them to purchase one of my add-ons - I offer for my assisstant (my dad) to come and video the whole party. My dad enjoys film and photography so I always have him on board. I then edit it at home using Adobe Premiere and make as many DVD copies as the parents desire - all for an added fee, of course! If they can't afford this, or don't want it, then I'm usually ok with them filming parts of the show as long as they don't try and do too good a job of it so that they could use it or show it to others. Hope this helps! Many thanks Magical Mark Watson (mark1991)

If in fact you <did> have something "different," you might not realize it was expected if you weren't aware you got the gig because someone saw a tape of your "A" show. Shoot! I'm doing it again! I apologize to the moderators and the patrons of the Café. It just completely slipped my mind to go to the end and edit my first post to reflect these thoughts. I'll try not to do it again, but I have a mind like a steel sieve!
