"...mindless prejudice against France..."
Hahaha...that was the best. Good grief. Iraq? Try beginning with de Gaulle...no wait..we can go back way further...oh the pain...I laugh too hard some times. Thanks John...made my morning. As to the Military bit...come on...all armies everywhere have blunders...so what... it was a funny sight regardless of who had the dud or if it was a set up for the camera...but France has this 'history' that adds a certain smirk to the event. It's been a LONG time since Napolean had the worlds *** envy directed toward the French military. Now I do not have 'mindless prejudice'...mine is definately of a mind. haha. My Grandfather came from Paris and I was rudely treated by a French speaking book seller in Quebec once when I was a child. Both traumatic...haha...but my Grandfather was a great man who accomplished many things so lets not count that...oh yeah, I remember...it was being stuck on a Tram with a bunch of French speaking tourists at Universal who had bathed maybe two or three weeks prior...yeah...that was it...forever tainted my impression of France. Look all it was a gag video...not a Political statement that everybody wants to turn it into. Thanks for the laff Tim and I totally agree about the comments on the Vid sites...really lame...if anything, I can't abide the political correctness that attempts to keep us from laughing at the idiocy of what we are ALL capable of... but about that deoderant.... By the way..for those a bit sensitive...I have nothing against France...in fact some of my best customers live there. I do find half the world's population though no matter where they live to be worthy of a good chuckle. The other half are just too dense to bother with.

John, I was an UN peace keeper and believe me, Canadians are in other countries with weapons. I also do think people are being mean to France. They have proved they can produced high quality weapons in mass quantities, mostly during the early 40's but still.....

Go to google, type in "French military victories" hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button then click on the link that appears. Pretty much sums it up.

Actually John the issue in those countries are internal strife and no invasion was involved. Thanks for playing though.

Ok MagicSanta; I misunderstood your intentions.
Canadian Forces are deployed in several countries, including some with internally-created problems. The bulk of the troops are in Afghanistan, but Canadian involvement in other conflicts continues. Of 2684 troops overseas, 2500 are in Afghanistan, so I concede your point: approximately 7% of Canadian troops overseas are in Countries that have internally generated their current instabilities, while 93% are serving in a country whose government was overthrown by a foreign invasion. For those who are interested in the numbers, a complete list is here: http://www.forces.gc.ca/site/operations/current_ops_e.asp John

This talk of the French military reminds me of this joke (I hope it is not too risque for the gentler souls on this forum): Pierre, a brave French fighter pilot, takes his girlfriend, Marie, out for a pleasant little picnic by the River Seine. It's a beautiful day and love is in the air. Marie leans over to Pierre and says, "Pierre, kiss me!" Pierre grabs a bottle of Merlot and splashes it on Marie's lips. "What are you doing, Pierre?" says the startled Marie. "I am Pierre, the fighter pilot! When I have red meat, I have red wine!" She smiles and they start kissing. Things began to heat up a little and Marie says, "Pierre, kiss me lower." Our hero tears her blouse open, grabs a bottle of Chardonnay and pours it on her breasts. "Pierre! What are you doing now?" asks the bewildered Marie. "I am Pierre, the fighter pilot! When I have white meat, I have white wine!" She giggles and they resume their passionate interlude, and things really steam up. Marie leans close to his ear and whispers, "Pierre, kiss me much lower!" Pierre rips off her underwear, grabs a bottle of Cognac and pours it in her lap. He then strikes a match and lights the cognac on fire. Marie shrieks and dives into the River Seine. Standing waist deep, Marie throws her arms into the air and screams furiously, "PIERRE, WHATEVER DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?" Our 'hero' stands and says defiantly, "I am Pierre, the fighter pilot! If I go down, I go down in flames!"
