I have a MiPro wireless amp that I use for my voice. It came with a good lapel microphone that plugs into the transmitter. The transmitter is a bit smaller than a pack of cards and takes one 9 volt battery. I want to buy a headset microphone because it will get the mike closer to my mouth so I won't have to have my amp turned up so loud.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a moderately price and good quality headset mike that I could use to plug into my same transmitter? Thanks. Jim

Countryman E-6 - Far as I'm concerned, the best there is. Nearly invisible, comfortable and sensitive.

I have an AudioTechnica model that is similar to the E-6. I love it.
Almost invisible. The output is a bit low but once I got everything jiggy I've been quite happy. I think the E6 has in "i" model but I'm not sure what the difference is.

I think moderately priced put the E6 out of his range...I could be mistaken, otherwise I would have recommended the DPA.
Kevin P.S. Don't forget, that with most mics, you will also have an additional charge for the correct connector for you particular transmiter.

I would like to get the DPA but that is out of my price range for now.

You can buy quality that works and lasts or buy cheap mics that fail and have to be replaced regularly. Either way you usually wind up spending the same amount. The call is yours. My opinion.

At the World Magic Summit last week, Kelly Duro from VSM was demonstrating a new mike they now offer which was extremely similar to the Countryman. I believe it is made by Shure and sells for around $99.00. From what I could see and what Kelly was saying, it's performance was quite good for the money. I'd contact his company directly for more info.

Skip...I totally agree. I just didn't think he was considering going with something in the price range of the E6 or for that matter a DPA.
In the long run, he will spend less. Also, in the short and long run he will have some of the best quality out there and sound & look professional. Kevin

I figured we were on the same page, Kevin. Just wanted to clarify my point of Quality vs. Economy.
Dan, knowing Kelly and the quality of his work, sounds like his new mic would be something worth looking into. Thanks for letting us know about it!

Actually, the one I used for about 10 years before buying my new system that included a Countryman earset was...a Gemini headset. It originally came with a lavalier, but I quickly upgraded that to the headset. It's not low profile at all, but it was a fantastic mic. Never a drop out, never any technical problems.
