For whats its worth, I usually close with a signed card to sealed envelope. I will hand out the sealed envelope and let the person who selected the card tear open the envelope to reveal their signed card inside. I will leave the signed card and envelope, which btw has my name and contact info printed on the envelope with them.
Thanks |

My current favorite closer is Randy Wakeman's Chicago Card Stab. Always gets incredible reactions.

The Homing Card, as taught to me, with an ambitious beginning. Kills always.

I will also say this to nobody spacifically. The audience gets to tell us what kills, what is brilliant, and what gets incredible reactions. I am constantly amazed, not necessarily by posts here, but other places, at what people say things like this about. Then watch them and it is really bad.
Keep in mind the audience will tell you what your closer should be. Listen to them, they really do have a lot of things to say.

The audience nightly reinforces my decision to keep the Chicago Card Stab (as I perform it) as my best closer given my current set. Again, I agree with Dannydoyle. The audience will tell us what works. Learn to read the audience.

I too agree with the above, we learn from our spectators what works and what doesn't. for example I did the 3 and a half of clubs effect which I feel is a little weak, but people really do love it!! but I am always looking for the kind of reaction I get for each effect I show and respond by routining the great ones together. andy

I get a funny feeling in the bowels of my magical heart when I see, hear, and feel the reactions of people after performing Interlaced by Richard Sanders, and Paperclipped by Jay Sankey. But anything will do. If they like you, all that matters is that YOU are closing.

My audience has always been pleased with my homing card, and I often ask them their thoughts on the show, and how I can improve. Eliciting gasps and such usually tells me that the routine went well.

If I am doing my coin set, I close with a one coin routine ending with jumbo coin.
The card set usually ends with card to wallet |
