Danny, your advice was very helpful and encouraging. And Will, your press release that you typed helped immensley. This is no lie. I actually did get a responser from her, and that's it in my previous post. I will keep you all informed, and if I do go on, I will try to get some DVD copies and mail it to you all.

The work has only just started.
Like she mentions I need a "related, active" event This has to be KILLER, has to support the story and has to reinforce points made in the story. ACR live just won't cut it here.... Shine Steve, Shine. Will PS. Does Red Robin have budget (dollars to spend from a corporate level)? The residual advertising that they would receive from a camera crew in the restaurant filming you create wonderful experiences is worth thousands. Negotiate man, negotiate. Tell your local paper about channel 5 possibly doing a story use that as leverage to get you in. PM me or Dannydoyle to discuss. I am more than willing to help.

I don't understand when you say negotiate? Should I ask for a raise? I have only been there 3 months.
As for what I plan on performing, it will most likely be either the malini egg bag, spongeballs, or card to picture frame (from west coast conjurers). I might do the bunny rabbits (sponge), but I have to routine that a bit more. Any advice? Thanks! Steve |

I don't want to overwhelm you and suggest you do something that it out of your immediate grasp.
See, if a television crew is going to come into Red Robin, the restaurant name is going to be on television in front of all the "captive" viewers watching the news. This is better advertising than a commercial as viewers are "captive" watching the news, not channel surfing to find another show. This is valueable to Red Robin and they should be participating in a financial way. BUT... First of all you have to check with them whether you can bring a TV crew into the restaurant in the first place. Are there certain times that it shouldn't be done i.e. lunch or dinner rush. Discuss the story with the manager as they may want comments from him. Arrange to have a company spokesperson there. This could be a big PR event for them. (these are only suggestions and ideas for you to work with) One effect could be enough as long as it is the right one. Take your best, most visual, the one that creates the best consumer experience (that's what the story is about right?). Performing something new may not be the best idea. I can only speak from an advertising standpoint on all this, and as I am not there I can only give you some ideas to work from. Will//

In the end I hope it works out great for you. Make sure NOT to take on too much. I know that may sound discouraging, but failure is in front of a LOT of people. You are raising the stakes here, which is good, and admirable, just keep your head about you.

Hey all. So, this whole thing is looking quite good for right now. Like a real possibility. I just need to get the OKAY from Mark, and his boss, and we're good to go.
