I know that there is a lot of debate (well a bit) about the chain link cuffs – and we know they have their place (trash can) but you have to admit! When you use 2 pairs! WOW they must be good! I just thought that you would all like a laugh at how tight the chains are! Is it just me or does using a cabinet for a production before doing metamorphosis kind of take away MOST of the mystery that this NORMAL trunk can restrain a person. |

TWO pairs of chain link cuffs?! That's impossible! And yet at the very end, he made it look so easy to escape from them. When he locked the chains on her wrists, they were so loose that I feared they would prematurely drop off her wrists as she bent down into the box.
Speaking of the box, it's not just you Dave! Why would anyone use a box for a production and for metamorphosis, back to back? It completely took all mystery out of the effect for me. Thanks for sharing the link Dave. |

And why is there an angry picture of Sugar Bear on the front of the box?
**On another note, I remember seeing Raveen do the chain cuffs as an "in and out" on TV when I was a kid and it blew me totally away.*********
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Before everyone gets to harsh on the guy (As has happened before on another section of the forums. It got very mean spirited and ugly.), remember he is not an escape artist. Yes...The chains were loose on the girl, and still a bit loose on Mimmo. Using the box to have the assistant appear was not the best choice.
The switch was nice and smooth though. Mimmo has over 30 videos up. Everything from large illusion to closeup. The videos are in different venues and for different types of crowds. What does this imply? He is getting work, and does a lot of kidshows. Kids love him. I like his duck routines. I have never spoken with him directly, but I have spoken with a lot of people who know him. He is a builder, and made most of his illusions himself. He really loves magic and his construction is top notch.. So far, the criticism has been constructive. The chains were too loose, and the dual use of the trunk weakened it. Please try to keep it that way. As for Chain Link cuffs...I have some and still use them. Don't really consider them an escape as much as a magic trick. I don't feel they need to look difficult if done as magic. Have a great D/s routine I use them with in Leather and Fetish clubs. Something I could not do with any other method I know. But it is comedy, not serious escape. By the way...Fetish clubs are a great venue for escape artists. Anything that involves chains, ropes or other restraints is going to go over amazingly well. Just be VERY careful whom you get to tie you up. Some of them are professionals, and can do some really interesting things with those ropes. Of course, that could also be used to add some interesting elements to a routine. Instead of having a couple of sailors do the tying or police officers to the cuffing, use a professional Dominatrix. They look good on stage... Gwyd |

Thgis was a nice piece of performance art, but just didn't float my boat.
Magic is like Science,
Both are fun if you do it right! |
