I saw this ad on the Penguin magic site and was wondering if anyone has it yet. My main question is if the piece of gum can be given away to the spectator, not that they will want it afterwards...
Thanks in advance, Tim

This is not a new item. To give the wrapped gum away, you'll have to switch it.

Presentation-wise I don't think giving the spectator the gum is a good idea. What I've said to people was, "I'll save this for later". Then I place it in my pocket as I am
saying, "I'd offer it to you...but it's ABC gum, I am sure you'd prefer a piece not already been chewed". |

It is a clever trick and one I perform often. I don't have the confidence to switch the gum out but I've seen it done and it looks convincing in the right hands.

As mentioned above, the instructions include a method for handing out the gum at the end of the effect.
In my original handling, in my lecture notes Look Out World!, the switch was much different in handling and was an integral part of the routine, such that you always ended with the ability to hand it out. Paul Richards, of Elmwood Magic, created an alternate handling that allowed for a more visual re-wrapping, and changed the moment of the switch to an off-beat after the effect was seemingly over. If you'd like to check out both handlings, I'll make an offer good until Jan. 20 for both the notes and the effect at $24.95 (the notes are normally $15 and the effect is $14.95, so you're saving $5. This offer isn't posted on Andi and my website (http://www.asquaredproductions.com), so you'll have to send a PayPal payment from the PayPal site to A2@Andy-L.com for the $24.95, or e-mail me to make other payment arrangements. If anybody is interested in just purchasing the effect itself, you can find that on my site at: http://www.asquaredproductions.com/shop/stickysituation.asp Quote:

I never found it presentational unsound. Of course, that's just me; opinions and tastes vary, and yours is just as valid for your performing as it is for mine, so I'm glad to hear you found a solution that works for you :o)
