Hey I found something that bothers me EVEN MORE. Shoes. For example a guy with black shoes on that are dusty from walking on sand. So are the bottom of his cuffs!
What bothered me more was this herritic was ME! Doing a show at a Resort in Mexico and they show you arround, "tonight we are showing Star Wars Episode One on the beach!" All proud of the 30 foot screen, popcorn sodas and all. So Mr. Hypnotist in black shoes and pants walks along to be duely impressed by the screen size, and without thinking starts to really screw up an all black look! I had time to do some damage control. I think I am saying attention to detail and environment can't hurt. As Jaz mentioned.

You are truly an embarassment to our art form, what with your dirty shoes and your hairy back.
I do hope you shave your knuckles before each gig Mr. Dannydoyle.

I think Danny is right. It seems like most magicians just think about there tricks and not anything else. But I think everything matters. I'm fat and I know people see it. I have to make sure that I look as good I can even though I'm fat. I don't want it to be a barrier to my audience. I want them to give me a chance and see that I have a "great personality".
Sure the audience might think, "Oh, I see why he has rubberbands now" after you do a trick. But up until that point, there attention is split. They are thinking "what's with the rubber bands" while you are performing. I don't think that is a good thing. Casey |
