So this is my first foray into this kinda of media...
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.myvideos johnny http://www.myspace.com/chris_robertson If the link above does not work at least go to my myspace and hit the video link under my avatar picture.... The dang burn bottle can be totally examined at the end of the trick. Okay, here's the scoop on this one, there are no slits in the bottle, no magnets or PK Rings, this is not Prohibition and the bottle can be given away at the end of performance. johnny

A couple things Johnny. First off it isn't cool to tip a secret as you are doing with Prohibition, you really need to edit what you put. Imagine if you release your version then you are inviting others to do the same to you and you won't have a leg to stand on while complaining. Second you are implying that you cannot hand out the bottle after Prohibition, you know that isn't true at all. Lastly either your handling is week or the method is pretty darn obvious, at least to me.
I wish you luck if you go to market but please provide the same level of courtesy to other magic marketers as you would expect yourself. |

I have no plans to market this, well maybe fifty years from now when I'm done using it exclusivly and I meant no harm in stating that my version uses none of the previous methods used to achieve this effect, heck I don't even no how Prohibition works. I was trying to be clear about my method not being Prohibition or like it.
I'm surprised if you really think you know how my cap gets in the bottle johnny

Thanks Louis, I actually have a few different handlings for different types of situations, some of which require absolutly no slieght of hand and the cap can even be signed by the spectator.

In fifty years, the design of the bottle and cap will have changed so much that it will no longer be interesting except as an antique. However, it's good for now. Watch your own video and tighten up your handling so MagicSanta and others won't be able to figure it out so quickly... remember, we're all magicians in here!

After 50 years the cap and bottle will have changed I'm sure, hopefully my handling wil have improved by then, hehehe. I figured the moves I chose to use would be be obvious to most of us on here any way, who hasn't heard of and learned the strike vanish here at the Café?

Ya I am with Magic Santa on this one. Personally after the first penetration I would be done with it. Why "bring" it back out and put it back in again?

Johnny, well maybe just don't really read this.
Seriously work on "presentation". I don't care what trick it is man that presentation is weak at best. The handling is tough to watch. Focus less on the "how" and more on the "way" you do things. Sorry but the method wasn't too hard to spot. Laymen may well NOT spot it, but they will place "when" you do it easily. THAT can be just as bad for you.

I meant not to have much of a presentation patter or jokes and I really tried not to do David Blaine, hehehe "look look watch..."
I save my presentations for clients and or street shows which ever comes first, not online where anything can be stolen. johnny

So then you present things online again why?
I guess this is a trend I dislike in magic. As if there is a difference in working for people. As if you can seporate the "audience" from the "magic". That is not a skill I even posess. I am very confused. If it was purposfull, then more power too you it was quite successfull.

Well, you see in real life there would hopefully be a crowd and on the off chance there is a person in the crowd with what I need this trick goes over great especially with all the by play that can be had with the person whose bottle of soda you borrowed from them and like I mentioned before I do this trick different ways and not always with the moves I used on my first attempt at learning how to post videos.
All that said I noticed only after I posted this video how many cap in bottle effects were really out there on the internet, it's sad really and mine was like most of the bad ones danny has a point...don't think I didn't notice hahahahahaha...I've been doing magic far too long not to notice whats bad out there in cyberspacetopia. God bless it for all it's worth. And yes for me it is different performing for a lone camera than it is with real live people in real world enviroments, maybe the camera is too controlable I dunno it's just different...it's cold. johnny Posted: Mar 25, 2007 12:52am Quote: On 2007-03-24 13:01, Spellbinder wrote: In fifty years, the design of the bottle and cap will have changed so much that it will no longer be interesting except as an antique. Man it didn't even take fifty hours...for one brand I am very fond of using has changed it's cap and the bottle within the last week or so it seems. Hahahahahahaha......... johnny

Johnny, man magic is the people, to take them out of it, well it is stale. Most internet magic is just that, stale as 3 day old bread. It is a very sad trend.
I have NO idea why anyone would put out a trick on the internet with no audience watching them. It boggles my mind.
