I purchased a Brass instant reset Ring Casket. I accidently screwed the lid on a little to tight and can't seem to unscrew it. I was told that boiling the brass Casket in hot water can possible be the solution. If anyone has had this problem before and has a solution, let me know.
If boiling is the answer, how long should the Ring Casket soak?

I would think that you would want to chill the base with ice, and then dip only the lid into boiling water. That way you're not only expanding the stuck lid with heat, but shrinking the base with cold. Wrap the hot lid with cloth and twist it open.
