I was always interested in this venue as well. I know a few magicians who work some of the local malls around here. I think at the very least it would get your card out to more perspective clients for other gigs, even if the mall does not pay at all. I for one would do it for free if it would get my name out to at least 10 people who would book me.
The great trouble with magicians is the fact that they believe when they have bought a certain trick or piece of apparatus, and know the method or procedure, that they are full-fledged mystifiers. -- Harry Houdini

Right on Curtis!
Malls ROCK…believe it or not. …all we can say is: For those who believe (and KNOW it’s true and WORKS!) no explanation is necessary, for those that don’t (and DON’T know!) none will do.” SW, SW, SW… NEXT!

OK, fast forward to 2009 and what is the result of all the individual inquiry into this pursuit? Is it on or not. All the Yeah Sayers, has it panned out or was Al dead on? I don't even think that Walmart gives out stickers anymore. Course, I don't buy my magic there. Actually, I don't buy any thing there. I love my grand kids too much to lower their chances of owning a small business someday.

Interesting that this thread surfaces now. I have just started a campaign to malls in my province.
All these nay sayers remind me of those who complain they never win the lottery and yet they never buy a ticket. If I don't spend the money and put out the effort, I will never know there results. I find around here that I am surprised anyone gets any work period because no matter what market you suggest, there is always that long line of people who can't wait to say why it won't work. If you don't try, you never learn.

Tis true. I've found that to be the order of the day in my local magic clubs so everything remains the same. I say, GO FOR IT. contact a few malls, feel it out before you go print up a thousand high priced fliers. There are a lot of tired folk out there so don't be held back.
