Hi, I've recently been doing a lot of strolling magic for school fairs and functions, and I've run into a problem. These kids are three feet high. I wear a suit when I perform, and the wear and tear of kneeling on the ground to perform for them is ruining my pants. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and how they solved it?
Thanks in advance, |

I suppose one could consider carrying a small "magic carpet" with a bit of padding in it for the knees. It would be a good way to send a signal that the "Magic" is about to occur. otherwise, it might mean a costume alteration, or at the minimum, kneepads with a cover to match your slacks for protection.

Instead of lowering yourself, how about lifting the kid up, think milk crate.
This would give more people a view of what you are doing. Or you could sit in a chair (at a table perhaps) Joe |

While kaytracy gives good, sound advice, another idea would be to carry some effects that you can do by just bending down a bit(to be on the kid's eye level). That way the little ones don't feel left out, and you won't run the risk of ruining your outfit.

Maybe your Mommy could iron on some of those neato patches so you can preserve your suit until you outgrow it...Just kidding.
Truthfully,I can't remember this being a problem in 30 years.I am about 6.0' tall and I never had to get on my knee's to be effective entertaining the wee ones .I know about the sensitivity issue with getting down to the childs level...but I think more has to do with your overall demeanor, rather than your positioning. Just MHO. Best. Rich |

Just a simple suggestion, crouch instead of kneel that way the knees are not on floor
