I just spend a 100 bucks buying magic books online - mostly the Karl Fulves that I still needed to fill out my collection and it feels to me like it was really cheap considering that here in Taiwan I can go to the 7 eleven in 3 days and pick up the books because I bought them from a local supplier.
It just feels like it is so much cheaper as when I was a student. I usually buy 1 book at a time and read for ages on it. They had a 15% discount plus free shipping special if you buy more than 10 books and I couldn't resist. Have I finally grown so old that I have fallen victim to the buy now for cheaper trick or am I just addicted to magic books. The only books I own are either business (due to the degree) English literature (of which more than half was bought at a dollar a book from a bankrupt supplier) and magic and it feels like my collection (i did buy more than 10) has just increased dramatically for a small fee(an average of 5 bucks a book new). I just feel good and wanted to tell someone. |

Magic items in general have *at least* kept up with inflation on all items. Any magic items that includes the least bit of craftmanship or workmanship has jumped up at an ever higher rate- my guess is because of a general decline in the numbers of folks still producing said quailty magical items.
I'm glad you feel you're getting good value for your money, as for me, it keeps getting harder and harder to justify the price of new magic (good thing for me I've still got plenty of old magic still untapped!)

The fact that you ask if it is a bargain indicates that you're getting old. Which Fulves books did you buy?
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

More self working card tricks.
Self working rope, self working paper and self working number magic. And then a few other books on history and some about sleights and Bobo's coin magic because a "friend" borrowed mine and then made like a magician - disappeared. I also bought a book about Dai Vernon and his search for the perfect center deal which looks really good. More a story about gambling in the 1920's 30's and 40's but still looks pretty good. I am excited as hell. Oh and after paging through it at the bookstore a few times I also bought Magic for Dummies. Many people have said it is pretty good so now I will read through it and form my own opinion. |

Let me just also say I did buy a lot of books for the sake of buying books.
My card collection is looking really great but there is a lot of duplication. |
