It's become quite an obsession with me, really: finding this book.
Does anybody know how many copies were made, if it will be re-released in the future, and where I may be able to find a copy? Thanks =) |

I know that they have gotten quite hard to find. If you can round up a copy however, it is well worth the effort. It was one of the first bizarre books I ever got my hands on and really opened my eyes to some rather unique possibilities for presenting our art.

This is probably the hardest I've looked for anything, so far =)... I don't miss the pieces of my mind that continually disappear!
Would you know a good place to look? I'm keeping an eye on eBay & have even put up a "Want It Now" add; the same goes for Martinka.com; and I have a couple of bookstores actively looking for it. Any suggestions would help, if not find the book, keep the mind busy. |

A cursed Key for a Cursed Box The Tome of Terror it Unlocks If you can answer these 3 key questions - perhaps I can tell you about the secret vault in the Miskatonic Library.... 1) Why do you seek this book? 2) To what purpose will you use its magicks? 3) What was the name of the star system Cthulhu and its ilk came from before landing on Earth and settling in R'lyeh? By the way - I am not joking. Dr S

Have you contacted Mr. Minch? Perhaps he has an extra copy or two lying around. I doubt he has any plans to reprint it in the near, or even far flung future. I found a copy last year in a magicians estate sale so I'd just keep checking around at Magic Swap meets and Auction sites.

Unfortunately, I live in deep Arctic Alaska where I am the only performer. Do you know if Stephen Minch has a website or where I may be able to find a way to contact him?
Thanks for the info! ~Steve Osborne |

Ha, this is a book I want as well! Dr. S, here are my answers...
1) Because the great and terrible Cthulhu demands it of me. 2) To glorify the great and terrible Cthulhu and serve him unto his waking. 3) According to Lovecraft in a correspondence to fellow author Clark Ashton Smith, Cthulhu's parent is the androgynous deity Nagoob. Nagoob mated with the Outer God Yog-Sothoth to bear Cthulhu on the planet Vhoorl. However, according to Lin Carter, Xoth (or Zoth) is the green binary star where Cthulhu and his ilk once lived before coming to earth. Grant me, Cthulhu's humble servant, that which I seek.

Mr. Minch's website is: http://www.hermeticpress.com/ The book, however, was published by Bob Lynn/Invocation in 1979, not by Mr. Minch himself...
I recently got a copy of this book at an auction in England: my best suggestion is to keep an eye for auctions and estate sales. Good luck! |

Myst,
It was just an educated guess, besides, you know me well enough that I only put cameras in Nuns dorm rooms. Love them black kneehigh stockings.
