Creative Magic http://www.creativemagic.org has a new product out that is designed to be an appearance but could easily be used as a great looking backdrop as well. However, I cannot see spending $1250.00 plus shipping for it.

That's a Bryce Screen. It has been around for a long time, and plans can be found in many "warhorse" magic books - probably even in Tarbell. The one from Creative does look very nice, though, and I'm sure it's much easier to pack and transport than a lot of stuff you might build yourself.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...
