Hello all!
I've been lurking around here too much lately.. and not even written a nice message saying hello to you all My name is Micke Askernäs, I'm 34, magician for the past 14 years, 7 of them professionally. I've been doing it all, basically, sleight of hand .. walkaround, some stage stuff, lately more and more into mentalism, and now for the past months, some really bizarre ideas that are starting to take place.. You guys really are a great source of inspiration and ideas, and the more I read, the more I feel I really want to make reality of ideas ... Anyway, I'm a lucky guy, since I have a brother who is really artistically inclined, although he never has had any budget to afford "proper" materials to work in .. I thought I'd end this post with some pics of his stuff, in case anyone out there is interested.. view all of the pics at zombie Just to clarify: these items are not items that are for sale. Just things that my brother has made for me, to work with the things that I do.

Works for me. Neat stuff. There is a place for that gore stuff big time over here in the US in the Haunted House industry. Is Halloween celebrated in Sweden? Are there Haunted Attractions?

Halloween is starting to grow over here ... one of the things imported from the US ... but other than that, alas no.
There are some mediums around who does readings with various things, but no real bizarre things... which is why I've sort of cornered in on it more and more and more.. I have ideas ... things that I want to try, things I want to try, and things I'd really like to do. Design a haunted house and run it for real and scare people is one thing ... but .. I doubt it would work here... Problem for me is, I have these ideas, but nowhere to turn, as there IS no such thing over here.. I would probably go a little overboard when I eventually will do the first "test-show" ... I want to give chills o nthe back of people, yes, but I don't want things to get tacky or a gorefest... Just the sort of thing where people go away wondering at the back of their minds what the ... just happened. I wouldnt call it or even relate to magic... I would call it more of .. an experience. That is what I want the people walking away feel they had... and chills. AS far as haunted attractions: I know of two decent haunted houses in Sweden .. located in Stockholm and Gothenburg. It's a mix of very plastic animatronix, to some half-decent holographic and mirror illusions, some optical illusions, and a bunch of actors running around in the dark and no longer being allowed to touch the "guests" ... it was way more fun when that was still allowed

Those Haunted Houses you describe sound much like the ones here though there are some really good ones.
I was amazed when I saw the HUGE effort Disneyland Paris puts in to it's Halloween celebration...MUCH bigger than Disney does in the states. Because the USA inspired Halloween is so well recieved in the French Park they JUST this past year began implimenting it at Disneyland in Anaheim. Talk about backwards!
