I just got Tony Clark's Rope escape Dvd and it was actually pretty good. It came with the rope, which was cool, and Magic magazine has an offer running for it right now for free shipping. I don't know if its posted on here anywhere though. You guys should all check it out. Its pretty cool.

What is all contained on this DVD? I didn't know it even existed...

The DVD has two items.
The first is a wrist tie. It is an "in-and-out" type of tie that was a feature of the Blackstone Jr. show. Actually, the tie itself is not new and can be found written up in a number of places. However, Tony shows you how to do it easily and very deceptively. In fact if a picture is worth a thousand words this short video is worth a million words. I've used this tie for years and still learned a new technique that I had missed. The second item is a knife through coat routine. Again it is a basic routine that is in print in a number of places. Tony shows you everything you need to know to pull it off. It can be done totally impromptu. Borrow a couple of spectators, borrow a coat, and borrow a knife and you have a routine that looks and plays big! The tape was filmed in a lounge with a small audience (four people). The production qualities are good, everything that needs to be seen to learn the various moves are clearly shown. I believe that it is reasonably priced for a two routine DVD. If you already have an in-and-out wrist tie and/or a good knife through coat then you will probably not get a lot from this (remember I had a good in-and-out wrist tie and still learned something from this DVD). However, if you don't have either in your performing repertory then this is a good place to start.

Get The life of Billy Bishop It's got a great simple, funny, rope escape. Doesn't require a DVD etc.
Also, some cool other routines by a pro. John |

The Billy Bishop book is a treasure and not just for his signature rope routine. It is full of whit, wisdom, and the life and times of Mr. Bishop and how he survived as a performer.
His rope tie is way different than the one being taught on the DVD. Bishop’s is a sitting down version with legs and wrists being tied together. It is well worth learning and having in ones repertory.
