A lot of great info in this post. I have to admit I never even thought of doing a dove production after Knots Off.
The magic is not in our sleights and illusions, but instead in our ability to bring love and joy.

I can see now that this needs to be part of my lecture in Colon, MI this August. Also I hope the folks at Kutstown, PA invite me to lecture there too.
Lucy and I do Knots-Off Silk (36") and then produce the dove. Next I vanish the 36" silk and to all the world it is done in a TT! Knots-Off silk is a great intro to dove from silk. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Dang Bob! You can vanish a 36" in a TT? Good Grief! That in itself is worth the price of admission!

Thomas,
LOL! It does get magicians to your dressing room door after the show. Since a 9" square is the largest most magicians can vanish, it gets their attention. It is 16 times as large. The performance appears the same. For one thing, I don't cut holes in my Knots-Off Silk. (I never know what product placement body load my be coming, if not a dove, following the Knots-Off Silk.) You can cut out the company logo, a heart, etc. instead of the jar lid holes yourself. Never say never, but unless I am giving the silk away, I simply don't cut holes in them. The 36" silks get expensive! and I can't take the risk of flashing the body load to follow. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander PS --- I think I will have a few lectures in the Carolinas in July. Hope I get to see you. |

I'll try to make sure I can make it to one here in the Carolina's. I'll just be getting back into the country around then. Taking a little R&R in late June after travelling up the NY for a few gigs in the beginning of the month. If I do make it, you have to vanish that 36"...I have to see that to believe it! LOL!!

The silk vanish has come from Bob's Scheming as he likes to say. He tipped me about it. Can not say it is original to him, he would have to answer that. With the same "gimmick" I have seen him do 3 or 4 completely different effects that have nothing in common with each other.
Just a great application of a standard gimmick that you have had one time or another, that you have only used one way. Remember magicians stop thinking too quick! Some gimmicks can be used in more than the way that comes with the instructions. "and to all the world it is done in a TT!" Thomas that does not mean that is what he uses, notice the wording.
Be remembered for performing what looks like MAGIC, not skill.

I did purchase his lecture note last week as he was on my side of town doing a lecture. His lecture note explains how to perform the Double Dove Production without using your mouth. But he uses two silks to tie into a knot. I only see one hour of his lecture because I had to leave early to perform a show. |
