Hi yall,
Did any of you guys catch David Blaine's promo during the NBA playoffs? I'm still trying to figure out why he did it, I mean besides getting paid. Anyone? |

I don't know that much about David Blaine outside of his tricks, but if he's a street magician, he has to like basketball, right? (OK, bad joke.. Sorry!) Bad jokes aside, maybe he's a big basketball fan who likes money a lot? Sounds like a plausible explanation to me. |

Loved the magnet promo. Actually the NBA has got a really good campaign going right now.

I think they are funny. Whats the problem with them? Or is this just "Blaine did something so I hate him and what ever it was he did" kind of thing?

Actually, I'm a closet blainiac. I was just trying to figure out whether or not he was getting out there again to promote something, or what? Couldn't really figure out the correlation between magic and basketball, that's all.

BTW - "why" he did it? Exposure. Celebrity. Money.
Believe it or not there are pros that actually get paid to "appear." (no pun intended) -Robert

I am not a fan of David Blaine's magic (at least what I have seen on tv...in person may be a whole other ball game) but I have been enjoying the commercials. Psudo explanations delivered as flat and matter of factly as possible. Funny stuff.

Funny commercials. I would advise Blaine not to pop a couple ludes then drink a six pack before doing the commercials though.

This last one was hilarious. He was talking about the face mask of Rip Hamilton. "The nose Knows". Funny stuff.
As for the whole "I don't like Davids magic" blah blah blah that goes on in the Café. Laymen love the guy. At the end of the day that is all that really matters. |
