I added a new essay entitled, "What type of gaffed coins should I get?" to the Foundations section of http://www.coinvanish.com
The original reason I started the Foundations section was to answer questions that I received over and over again. Topics tended to be about the Classic Palm, the Muscle Pass , where to start with Bobo’s etc. With the increased availability of custom crafted gaffed coin sets, I have been receiving questions with more frequency about what type of gaffed coins should I get? I have added a 7 topic essay to help you make your decision about gaffed coins that covers the following: What type of gaffed coins should I get? 1. What type of gaffs? 2. What size coins? 3. Silver versus clad? 4. What are soft coins? 5. What is re-edging? 6. Should I get an expanded shell set or unexpanded shell set? 7. Do I need custom crafted gaffed coins? Enjoy. Dan |

Excellent essay, particularly the part about buying the gaffs FOR a particular effect or reason, as opposed to buying the gaff because it's neat, and then trying to figure out what to do with it.
By the way, I'm not pointing any fingers, because we have all committed this magical sin, myself included -- hey, we wouldn't be coin workers if we didn't all appreciate a beautifully made coin gaff. But it's just good to be reminded of this once in a while. SETH

Thanks Dan for the heads up. I haven't looked at the information yet, but I am going to right now. I am sure it will be very helpful like everything on your web site. I am very curious about how you answered those 7 questions.....
