Does anyone out there know if there'e a good magic shop in the Orlando,Florida area? I have been there a few times and all I found was tourist type shops selling mainly Svengali's etc.
I know that Downtown Disney has MagicMasters and they have some good demonstrators I'm told.

I know why you asked the question here instead of Googling. If you google it with "Orland Magic", you get too many Orland Magic.
You can find two magic shops at : http://www.magicmagazine.com/dealers.html Hideo Kato |

There is not a magic shop in Orlando, but there are some close by. There is Daytona Magic,BACKSTAGE MAGIC & NOVELTIES, but most important is there is a IBM Ring in Orlando that meets the 3rd Wed. of every month. Visit http://www.ring170.homestead.com for more info.

I think that you'll like Daytona Magic. Since Orlando is a tourist based town, you'll get tourist based shops.
Magic Max at Old Town is fun. Right next to the Haunted Grimm House.

There is a magic shop at Universal Studios (Or is it City Walk?)in Orlando, but it's a tourist based shop with simple effects but the prices are not simple. Drive over to South Beach Street in Daytona Bch. and visit Harry Allen at The Daytona Magic Shop.

About Daytona Magic. I was at a magician's convention in Cleveland a few years back and Harry was there setting up his dealer's display. I was an early-bird and wanted to see the stuff before the crowd showed up. Harry took the time to stop what he was doing, and watched me do a $1 to $100 switch with a TT. He offered good advice and I can't thank him enough for it. Thanks Harry if you ever get to read this and hope you remember me!

Daytona Magic is a good shop. If you're driving down there, rather than flying, I would suggest stopping at Mr. G's in Orange Park, right off the Jacksonville Beltway, as well.
