Hello...I expect my PK ring to arrive today or tomorrow.
(The wife got a little upset when she saw me measuring my ring finger). Anyway, I've searched the archives but I can't seem to find any info on PK ring effects/routines. I know of one cap/bottle penetration that uses a PK ring, so that will be the first thing I learn. But what else is out there? Perhaps there are other search terms I don't know I should be using? Oh, and somebody mentioned "glue dots" to dampen the sound. What are these, exactly, and where do I get them? |

Select "search" and type in "pk ring" at "search by keyword" and a whole mess of stuff comes up. You'll be reading for a long time.

Well.. I'm 14 and I own a pk ring and couldn't use it much because it looks kind of suspicious on me. one other good effect you can do though is to "stop time" just simply put the ring on the back of an ANOLOG watch and the second hand will stop. don't do it for too long, and not an expensive looking watch. don't do it to "self-winding" wathes either. it messes up the workings. (I know, my dad messed up his brand new watch doing it)

Well, after reading through 34 pages of search results, I didn't come away with anything...just the one famous effect that I bought the ring for anyway.
Lots of people asking the same question, though, so I don't feel too bad. Apparently, Randi's DVD will fill a void in this area. |

I have seen the PK ring DVD, it is terrible.
There are only two good effects with a PK ring. Prohibition and stopping time. Another application that is good is a stab and smash. |

Well, my PK ring arrived, and it's too big.
I ordered a size 10.5 based on a sizing chart I printed out from a jewelry site. I'll have to order another one, but I'll get sized at a jeweler's this time. I was too jazzed up and wanted to get my order in. Sooooo...if anyone is a size 10.5, let me know. This is a SuperMagnetMan ring, so it was only $7.50. I'm sure it would have fit before I lost 60 pounds. |

Does it look nondescript?

Yes, it's just a plain gold band:
http://www.supermagnetman.net/product_in......s_id=502 I got sized yesterday, and I'm 9.5, so I was way off. |

I've been using the PK ring off and on for several months now and enjoy it. I didn't like my first one but found one that both looked and felt better at
http://www.blacksmagicgroup.com/ for about $30. I love it. I've incorporated the ring in my own version of nailed, and you can use it with a little prep work for items through tables, etc. Prohibition is great. But one thing I also like doing for kids is taking the effort to put a canadian quarter (the magnet grabs it) and performing the same thing with the quarter-to-bottle trick and give the bottle to the kid to keep. It goes over well. Of course I happen onto these quarters all the time so it's easier. That won't be the case everywhere. But you get the idea. |

I highly recommend getting a ring size set. It's a bunch of gages to put your finger through just like the jeweller would use. They are inexpensive (in plastic) and good to have around for such times as you lose or gain weight.

I just went to WalMart's jewelry department, and they sized me.

New Member. I bought a WIZARD PK RING a month or so ago from MIKE DANATA'S MAGIC STUDIO, Palmeston Road, Boscombe Nr Bournemouth, but was a little disappointed with the WIZARD PK RING DVD. When I went into Mike's Shop recently he suggested I buy a trick called 'BLIND SIGHT.' which consists of 3 Poker Chips, a Small Circular Brass Box with screw top. He advised me not to bother with the enclosed gimmick, but said the trick worked much better with the PK RING, and boy was he right. You can identify EVERY TIME the chip that is put in the box by the spectator. ITS A KILLER, also the box is so easy to carry around in your pocket and worth every penny. Get one from MIKE.!!

Right!
Mitch, check out the DVD to accompany the Wizard PK ring at http://www.worldmagicshop.co.uk/wizard-ring-p-4051.html Don't worry about buying additional products, make your own. Get hold of some neodymium magnets (they are all over the net) and insert them into every day objects. A small stack in a small tomato produces an excellent PK effect. Sk8erBoi9305, try wearing the ring differently, my daughter is 13 and wears hers on her thumb - looks kinda cool and less suspicious for a 13 year old. Try adding other jewellery. If you have a thumb ring, a pinkie ring ans a bracelet, nobody is going to think anything of your PK unless it is the G2 wedding band style which is a little adult. I have a Wizards G2 Silkver wedding band PK ring as well as the old style Wizard PK and I am more than satisfied with it. I wear it on a daily basis as straightforward jewellery so now, even people that know me well are not suspicious of it when used for tricks. I have to say, though, that once you have seen a few ideas like the ones in the DVD you should be able to come up with a dozen of your own with no problem. I do a coin thru t-shirt routine, cap in beer bottle, plastic cap in plastic bottle, card/coin matrix, spinning pen, coin transposition, loads of stuff! The routine Norman suggests is also excellent and can be made impromtu with a grocery bagful of coins or bottle caps instead of poker chips. Experiment. |
