I've done my own version for years. Tony Clark's routine looks great to me. He's worked out the details so it should be worth the money. Audience's are very impressed that you are escaping from rope which is ungimmicked.

From what I meant by being around a Bit it looks similar to Abbotts and Calverts. also here is a link with a performance of it to help you decide. http://www.murphysmagic.com/In-and-Out-R......ory=-118

Oh yea, the actual method of the escape is probably in Tarbell. Calverts is.

Very nice routine & audience-handling...
But if you're wanting to pay $30 - just to learn the secret of the "Kellar Rope Tie" itself...you might as well just look in most elementary books on Magic & Escapes. Well, at least he includes a "Knife Thru Coat" routine. |

There's also the seated rope escape, which I have used.
It is in the Billy Bishop book, and also on one of Dick Stoner's "I Spell Magic F-U-N" videos.

Years ago I learned a rope tie from Karrell Fox called the "Foxy Rope Tie". Worked great. Is this the same but done behind the back?

Would this be easy enough for a hobbyist to do at family gatherings etc?

The Kellar Rope Tie, which he learned from the Davenports, is an excellent out and in tie.

My vote is for the Kellar Rope Tie. I do it at almost every show. I even do it in walk around.

Kellar rope tie, and the seated rope escape are also in Dixie Dooley's escapology DVD, along with some other very good routines.
