I just got done reading a really good interview with Paul Harris in this month's (June) Magic magazine. Eric Mead conducts the interview, and gives both a life story of Paul Harris, as well as an update on what he is doing/working on now.
Some of the most noteworthy parts of the interview: -Paul revealing that Wayne Houchin has been helping him work on his True Astonishments DVD series (there's also a cool picture of WH & PH together) and that the first 3 DVDs are set to release this Septemeber. -A website called "The Astonishment Project" that Paul is creating. -Paul Harris comments on David Blaine For any Paul Harris fans out there, I HIGHLY recommend going out of your way to get a copy of this month's Magic magazine. Very cool, very in depth interview that I totally geeked out over. I can't wait for these two projects Paul is cooking up to be served. Happy Magic. |

Yep...it's a great article. Gives a nice "update" on PH and what he's up to.

Check the "Latest and Greatest" section of this forum for a little more discussion of this topic, along with some new info from Tim Trono. The thread is called "Paul Harris Mega DVD Set" or something along those lines...

Great article. I was too shy to say hello to Paul the first time I saw him in 1991. It was the WMS, in DC. He was just sitting there by the little coffee shop with one other person. I walked by, then quickly turned into the shop. When I came out, I was too nervous to go over and say hello. I hate whan I do that! Same thing happened with Bill Larsen and the Shimada! Oh, I just remembered, Albert Goshman too!!!
Anyway... Paul is THE Man! |

This is my favourite issue of MAGIC to date. 12 whole pages devoted to the Close Up Knda Guy! Wow! Fantastic article too. I have read it over 20 times now.

And I thought I was the only one that read them over and over again. Paul Harris rocks and I loved the article.

It's the features article in the June 2007 issue of Magic Magazine. Great issue (and magazine).

Paul Harris is one those true great guys of magic. Everything that has ever been said of him is true. My only gripe with Paul is that he says that he is not a very good performer. I disagree. I have seen him perform I think that this is his strong suit. But, Paul is a very humble person. He is one of those true genius’ that is not aware how good he really is. I’m sure he has come to grips with it because of all of the cult like following he has gotten in the past years. I’m just glad he is still creating, however wacky it may be.

I always wonder if the real Paul Harris comes through in these articles.
He is as unique as he sounds. That's the real Paul Harries. He totally defies any classification (unless you count "genius"). |

Paul is a big influence on my work. I too hated to see the article come to an end.
