I have some casino dice here. I think the term is clear razor edge flats. Craps dice. I am not a dice guy as you know I know nothing much about dice at all. Anyhow this is the thing:

I thought what about sticking clear plastic over one face of a die. So I tried it. It's not altogether invisible it kinda makes that face a little dull, not so shiny as the other five faces, but it's not that bad.

Now here is my question if I stuck it on the Ace spot, what effect if any would that have on the roll? I have tried a few rolls but I can't tell if it is having any effect.

The sticky plastic I used is thin, like the stuff that is on the screen of a new mobile phone to protect it from marks or whatever.

Why not try putting more of the stuff on so that its really sticky and see if the sticky number sticks... then you can slowly lessen the sticky stuff..

Smile The sticky side of the film sticks to the dice, making them thick like a brick, slick and not stick.

If you used clear vanish to paint one side of a cube, then the cube would become a brick because of the thickness of the film of vanish.

Likewise with clear sticky tape/film.

The thing with sticky film is you might be able to apply it to the cube when at the table… on the fly.

Do you follow?

It must effect the dice, but as it must be very thin, to stop it being seen, it will not have much effect. The question is what effect will it have and is it significant enough to give an edge to beat the game?

Invisible Screen Protector

http://www.shieldzone.com/faq/index.html

That is maybe what I used, as I peeled it off a mobile phone LCD screen. Its *almost* invisible.

I recon it would pass in a game of Backgammon. Which is the only dice game that I play.

I guess I will have to do experimental rolls to see what effect if any it is having on the dice.

Why not just buy a pair of loaded dice.....it's safer and at least people will not see anything on the outside.

Well I thought it might be able to be used in a casino on the fly. It would not that hard to stick it on *their* dice. Their dice have security features IR, and numbers' logo etc. To gaff their dice with a simple sticker seemed like an idea. But what do I know as I said I am not a dice man. How would would put loaded dice in a casino craps game?

I just don't think the idea will work very well. In essence you would be making an impromptu capped dice.(I know it wouldn't be a true capped dice. No lectures please.) But I don't think that film would do much. Maybe it would.

How do you put loaded dice into a casino craps game? Very carefully and at your own peril. Or maybe from the inside.

HEy whats up tommy?? the problem I see with putting it on "their" dice is the stickman has to retrieve the dice and the sticker might get shifted with the stick... As for the question, The last thing I would do is put loaded dice in a casino as there are much easier and safer ways to knock off the dice pit.

There is nothing up except that I don’t think its easy to put loaded dice in at a casino craps game for them reasons. It might be better to gaff their dice if you could, it seems to me. I don’t think it would come off but it might. It doesn’t seem to me to have much effect on the roll outcome, going on my test, in any event.

That is close to the powdering method. There are chemicals used to make the dice sticky when heated slightly, and smooth when blown cold. This is related to blowing on them for luck....most of the highly temperature reactive adhesive powders were toxic and poisoned the users. Some reading may be in order. The substance was put on the bottom outside of a drink glass and dabbed on with the little finger closest to its location, when picking up the dice. The glass would normaly sweat and most are expected to be sticky. Karo syurp is still used at times, but trends are carefully monitored, and that is very slow work.

So it was, in those days.
