Hell everyone. I have been performing many different venues for over 5 years now. I'm interested in approaching a local casino. I would like to perform in the lounge doing close-up/stand-up. What is the best way to approach a casino? Who should I talk to and what is the best way to get the job?

Find out who the GM is and start your pitch. You have to have a pitch, customized towards them specifically. Maybe you could get people to stay longer, and buy more drinks? You could get them to come back to that specific casino, since they liked the entertainment?
It's all about what YOU can do for THEIR BUSINESS. Best, Steve |

I have worked with a casino for the last few years. I perform for their 4th of July and New Years celebrations. I have not tried to get a consistent gig with them because they are a few hours away from where I live. Restaurants are my consistent venues.
I think that this would be a good way to start though, let them see what you can do by performing at one of their "special" events. This would be a good way to get your foot in the door. Then, as Steve said, get to the GM or the person who would be in charge of hiring you. Often times casinos have a person dedicated to on the grounds entertainment, a little research will get you to the right person. |

Casinos have millions of dollars flowing thru them every day, your not going to get a hold of the GM. If you did your contributions would be flyspeck in his realm.
Best place to go to would be the Concierge, banquet manager, entertainment director. Warning casino are a tight corporate structure, you will fill out a lot of paperwork and if it is Indian run there is usually an approve vendor request you will need to fill out. Mark Byrne

Thank you Mark. I was going to say to not bother the GM, it will not help you. The big casinos have people in charge of entertainment and functions like that.

Good thoughts everyone. I have worked for a few casinos. The way I have done is to work with people booking private parties and so on. once you are comfortalbe with it then find out who to contact and go from there. You really want to know what works for there casino first.
