The closest that I came to finding a source was in Card Collge II, Giobbi cites this force as having a "basis of which dates back to at least the 19th century". He mentions that a rudimentary version appeared in Ottokar Fischer's "J.N. Hofzinser: Kartenkunste", and in other versions of the same material. I don't have my copy handy, but I seem to recall that this sort of thing was used with single cards in "The Sympathetic Numbers", maybe (the trick that has the number 10 in it a lot)? Giobbi refers to it as the Packet Force. I think that Charlie McBurney used this one in a lecture that I went to a few years back, but I'm not 100% sure. I might be wrong.

Another one I have not seen is where cards are face up on top of a facedown card.
Spector cuts from face up and magician marks it. Credits go to ALDO. |

Thanks, O'Malley.
The single card Hofzinser version must be what's reprinted in Expert Card Technique. Packet Force. Okay. T. Baxter

As I said before the last post seems to have vanished!
Vinny's stuff on the force is very good. Also a good thing on the classic force is the video tape that Paul Green did on the classic force. It has a lot of great tips and because Paul does the force well it is easier to pick up the timing of the force from watching a person do it well - like Paul on video. I hope this helps.

Ah...i knew I'd read it somewhere other than Hofzinser and Card College. This is with regards to the "packet force" mentioned above.
I was rereading the book "Fechter" his morning and came across something very similar to what Bish and Entity were discussing. On pg 237 - "A Fechter Force" - very similar to what is discussed above, but with some extra finesse added. There is a load of good practical stuff in that book...

Vinny's Bluff Jog Force is excellent (and not so hard to do)!
Best, Charles
