Just wondering if anyone has any experience with LightJockey 2 by Martin?

I was recently in Sherwood Systems talking to one of the lighting guys, and he commented that the Martin program was way better than any of the Elation controllers.

I know there are a few on here tha love the Elation software, so I'm wondering how they compare?

Sam,
I've done three - well 2 full and one VERY short tour with Lightjockey.
There is a learning curve but it is way better than Elations software.
If you have the time, I suggest looking into a more menu driven board - the programming time is cut in half !

Steve, right now I run everything off of a small Elation 8 channel board. For sure it's not the best, but it does sure do the job.
Could you get a good enough board for under the price of the Martin software ($1400)?

Overall, I think it would be easier to work off the laptop, versus a board, but you definitely know way more than me, so I'll take your word for it.

There are a few "new" boards out there -the nsi mc16 is a good workable board. Easy learning curve.
Laptop are good - be careful of the placement backstage...
Quick story - on tour with Ryan, actually at the war memorial in woodstock (?)
anyhow, the fire alarm goes off and the fire curtain drops - well I'm not too sure hom many of you know the process for a fire curtain but the release is electronic heat - meaning an element heats up and melts solder and then weights and gravity take over - guess where the hot solder ended up ? All over Even and the laptop screen.....
just another story for the books....
Speaking of stories, after I posted the section above, I started thinking about all the stories I have from the road. Maybe I'll share a few here -
