Folks,
I don't table hop professionally, but I do perform a bit at meetings of my professional association (dinners, retreats etc.) I'd like to develop a short (three tricks?)high impact intermediate skill routine for this that requires little equipment and resets easily. It is not likely to be a tremendously sophisticated audience (easy crowd) and I'm not doing it for tips. I have reasonable proficiency with ungaffed coins, sponge balls and I do the 3 card and color montes pretty well, along with the loopy loop, 3 shells some thimb tip tricks and mini linking rings. Any thoughts? Any help appreciated. Eric Mart |

Here's some seemingly impromptu sets that go over well.
* "Ghost Bills" Andrew Mayne, "Crazy Man's Handcuffs" Michael Ammar, "Traveling Cash" Dan Harlan. * "Coin to Key" from Bobo's but with a borrowed finger ring, "Florida Keys" Gregory Wilson, "Ringer" Steve Dusheck. * "Much from Little" from Bobo's with a borrowed coin, "Hanging Coins" David Roth, "Gadabout Coins" from Bobo's ending with empty hands. |

I support Jaz's views. The above effects are excellent for table hopping.

I like Jaz's as well, I would add 1 to 5 transfer or maybe hundy 500. Sponges and bunnies, I have snakes and tarantulas but I tend to leave them at home. And I really enjoy cups and balls or a chop cup.

What about Jay Sankey's Stirring Silver? Probably works well for dinner functions.
Gregory Wilson's Ring Leader might work for you as well. |

String Silver is killer.
Twisting The Aces is a great trick, too. No gaffs.....

No one using the cups when they table hop? I personally love to hop while performing the cups, I mean sometimes I even do it on one foot with a jump rope!
Peace j

I do a nice visual appearance of a ball in the shot glass and then apparently take it out of the shot glass through the glass without touching it. I am going to use this routine in competition in September and then I will have a video of it! I love table hopping with cups, best tipping trick other then my manly coin purse routine. Peace J

On that same note, when I am performing in a restaurant, table hopping or strolling for a casino or what not, I will always hand a coffee mug to the bar tender or waitress, and do a chop cup routine. I really enjoy all the different cups and balls but as Bill Palmer said it really doesn't matter about the cups more of that your spectators enjoy it. And I find using a regular coffee mug people like the spontaneity of it. I will also have my clear glass chop cup coming out! Check back on this one as I am really excited about this! Peace J

I do the first part only but I do have sankey's VBO so I could do this if I practised it (as you probably know Greg Wilson's on 'off the cuff', which I've also got, he only does part 1). I've routined my SS with a ring hopping from one finger to another move (I saw it on Colombini's 'Standing Room Only') and a spoon bend... however I have a nagging desire to revisit the whole routine... Do you recommend this? I'm asking you because I've noticed you have a very strong handle on exceptional 'worker' magic, that is commercial and practical... There's 3 or 4 guys on MC I take particular notice of... and you're one of them. best, John 'mrsmiles'
