I stand by what I say. There is no excuse for a business failing to update customers regarding the status of their orders. I understand things happen which prevent orders from being filled on time. Most customers will also understand this, if they are notified of the delay. I wasn't referring to the use of BOTS to answer email automatically, I was talking about using a contact manager to let you know when you have let an order slip past the due date, so you can drop a customer an email letting him know what's up. I didn't criticize your quality, I didn't complain about your pricing, in fact my second post clarified that I have heard your products are first rate, and I have never heard a complaint about your business practices. When a customer sends you his hard earned money, he deserves to know the status of his order. If it's delayed, he should be updated, This is common courtesy. Don
Woke up.

I believe that most customers are understanding of personal emergency type situations that arise in the case of small business owners, with respect to the filling of orders; however, with respect to notification, that's another issue. If I get a note that says, "I've had some family/medical/whatever issues, and it will take a few weeks to get your order to you," I'm ok with that. If I place an order, and I haven't heard anything for 2 weeks, I'm not ok with that. If doing as much as notifying customers about delayed orders is too much to ask, then the website should state very clearly what the usual time is to receive an order, so the customer can know what to expect before placing the order. Personally, I'm not very receptive to the idea that a dealer is too busy to send an order or notify me of delays, but not too busy to accept and order and take my money.
"Torture doesn't work" lol
Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |
