I was wondering if any Los Angeles-based Bizarre-inclined magicians would be interested in meeting, say, once a month in person (eek), socialize, show things if we care to, discuss anything - and generally do/show the peculiar things we types do amongst our ilk.

PM me and if there is interest in such a L.A. based Secret Storytelling Enchantingly macabre Magic Society I would gleefully organize something...to be held in my archaic, vast and crumbling library or amidst bowls of fabled and luminescent Matzoh ball soup up the street!

I would be willing to give it a shot. I'm in Camarillo, but the occasional trip to LA isn't out of the question...
Vast crumbling library, vast crumbling library.

Count me in for definite...

For that long, may I too remain,
to dispel the sufferings of the world.

I, too, am about an hour away...but would be willing to give it a try. Perhaps Magus and I could carpool.

I would be interested in such a gathering. I would like to delve a little more into this area and I always enjoy meeting magicians, especially fellow Café members.

Car pool could work Pabodie.
Prof. Pabodie rings a bell... Buckaroo Banzai?
I have a friend (not here) that goes by Prof. Fate,
can you call that one?

Wow, is this it ?
Even if so, would still be worthwhile maybe to have a small get together and see how it goes.

Magus...Prof. Pabodie is a character from 'At the Mountains of Madness' by Lovecraft. Prof, Fate? Sounds like an Ernie Kovacs character! What could be more bizarre than Percy Dovetonsils?

Sorry, trick question, Prof. Fate was from "The Great Race" (Greatest Movie of All Time?)
It's not very well known, but those of us who remember it, love it.
Best pie fight, best barroom brawl, best swordfight, Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, Peter Falk, directed by Blake Edwards.
In pre VCR days, a few friends and I used to have a party whenever it was on TV.

I'm happy to read these enthusiastic posts and will make this happen. I imagine that the scheduling details of our weird little local event might be tedious to those not here, so.... I'll try to use PMs to organize it.

Now, that settled, where do I find eight unopened pints of century old Absinthe, a paint brush used by Pickman and a story old as sin, steeped in hackles and honed on frozen tears?

Charles pm'd me this a couple of days ago...

----
Looking forward to this event...trying to decide between my place or somewhere like CANTERS Deli on Fairfax...big room in the back....

What Day of the week works best for you? Weekend? What time? A sunday?

Hopefully I can get my pad in order shortly because I do have a lot of weird show and tell, (and we could smoke cigars and sip port and scotch like Andruzzi). (!)
----

1st sunday of every month works for me, or any other Sunday.

I am glad to see other bizarrists are shouting out in their areas to get a similar project going... I am very excited and look forward to meeting you all in the near future...
