Gentlemen, here is the big question...Apart from youngsters who want to enter competitions at UK IBM conventions, and a small magazine every month what are the benefits of joining the IBM. This post is not to decry the organisation by the way,the conventions are excellent and members friendly . Mostly IBM conventions are attended by the over 40's ,am I not wrong. There appear to be no regional meetings at any regular intervals throughout the year and attending the convention ,taking into consideration travel ,lodging etc is a costly affair ,I should imagine for most of the potential younger attendees.What will/is the society planning to get new blood into its system?

Mark, why not write to the Secretary, John Pye with your question and suggestions.
He has a good listening ear and I am more than sure that not only he, but the committee as well would like to attract the younger magicians.

Just a thought, but I do see where you are coming from, being of the 'older' set myself!
