Your friend has been making a coin vanish in someones hand for 9 years?
Please point me to where this is in print as I have never seen it before. Sure you can make a coin vanish using a Scotch and Soda gimmick but this is something much different. If you are talking about the coin to shoe then yes, it is older than all of us. I don't believe Mitchell was ever claiming he invented that, just the vanish. All the best, Kranzo

I don't know if it is in print, I never asked my friend. But yes, 9 years! And he said it wasn't his either! The coin in shoe...lets not even talk about that. But the vanish is NOT new, I promise it is 9 years ATLEAST! Just because you yourself haven't seen this in print doesn't mean it isn't out there

A magician once showed me a way to vanish a coin out of a spectator's hand. No gimmicks needed. A pretty cool technique. Don't know if this is similar to that method.

Christopher,
There are ways to vanish a coin from a hand using shells, locking gimmicks, false counts with coins etc. Danny Korem has a very cool vanish of a coin from a spectator's hand using a unique gimmick in his book Korem Without Limits. OF course then there is the Raven. Most of the ones I have seen use an open hand not a closed fist. "Just because you yourself haven't seen this in print doesn't mean it isn't out there." I agree and would never make a statement like that. Hence the reason I asked you to point me to where it is published. So please, point me in the right direction, or give me your friends name, or have your friend contact me at nathankranzo@gmail.com Or feel free to drop me a PM. If this is someone's invention and it is published then I'm sure he doesn't want it credited to someone else. If it isn't published then...there isn't a lot you can do about that. All the best, Kranzo

If it isn't in print, Mitchell has one nothing wrong. I have been told by a VERY respected magician that you cna rehash an old idea as long as you CREDIT YOUR SOURCES as well as put your own spin on it.

I have seen this dvd and yes it has been done before. It even lends itsself to the old coin tap of the forhead gag that has been around for years and has even been on tv!
I have no gripes about you releasing it if you get the production value up a little and work a little on the gimmick. And mabye a little history on the method. As I have said in other forums I'm working on this now for you |

I have been PMing Nathan a little, and am too trying to find this out exactly. I'm sure some of the older coin guys will know. As I said, I was first shown this about 9 years ago, my friend used something to make an im****ion on the fingers to make it seem like a coin was inside. He also has a version which uses to gimmicks, just a normal borrowed coin and some clever patter which Derren Brown would be proud of! It wasn't something he ever sold, just something he did, but he did make a manuscript which I have around here somewhere, not something I would have used when I first saw it, as it wasn't what I was into. I forgot about it until this was brought to my attention.

Interesting, Christopher. The version I had done to me sounds like it might have been similar to what you are talking about. It was shown to me by a magician who had learned it from another magician. No idea who.

True, the same could be said for that, but the basic principle your using is an old one and that, along with the demo vid is pretty much all you'd need to reconstruct that.
Anyway, I don't want to reconstruct it, I have my own way (though it's nothing new). Im just giving my opinion. |

Wow, I just watched the trailor. $30 bones man. You gotta be more pragmatic man.
Doesn't luke jermay have an effect similiar to this where they feel the object in their hand and then it disapears... I believe that is where I read it. |
