Thanks for the links. The Hank lee paddle is one of the paddles I am looking to buy. I still don't know where to get the dry erase paddle and the Ju Ju paddle.
David, Porper does make excellent paddles. It is just not what I am looking for in this case. Thanks though I appreciate it.

I bought one of those Bat Tricks from Hank Lee that allegedly used chalk. What I received was an effect that used dry erase markers and a slick white paddle.
If you're really wanting the chalk version, I'd suggest a call to Hank Lee before ordering to confirm what you'll be getting. -Dan |

Not to hijack the thread, but while on the subject of paddles--does anyone know the source for the paddles that Paul Green uses in the effect he teaches on Live At The Jailhouse?
(They are white, plastic, blank on both sides, and are used to make a good giveaway at the end of the trick.)

Ju Ju Paddle is actually called JuJu Stick. Originally sold by Repro 71. I believe Martin's magic is selling them.

You want the black paddle/chalk version? Make your own with slat wood and flat black spray paint.

Just to throw it out there, a really cool paddle move trick that isn't like the knives or the Hot Rod is the Number Two Pencil. You can probably find it at any online store. Very fun.

I just looked around, it's a bit harded to find, I guess. I found it at MJM called the Magic Pencil:
http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/magic-pencil-p-3054.html Only five bucks, free shipping. I think I'll pick one up

The Number two pencil is not that great a routine IMHO.

Kennedy's Dream Paddle is also pretty clever. It is an odd thing however.

(IMHO) It's not a stand-alone routine; but when performing close-up or table-hopping, it's a great effect that always gets good reactions. When meeting with executives about doing walk-around magic for corporate events, I like to do the Number 2 Pencil illusion for them. The switch comes when I apparently "nearly" return the pencil to my jacket pocket and offer to let them keep the pencil. ...But first, let's review what we've learned. I then perform the climax of the routine just as it is in the directions. I hand them the pencil. And it's strong. Why? Because from their point of view, why do I need it? It's just a pencil and I just performed real magic. It's not a prop. It's a magically-altered everyday object. Otherwise, I wouldn't have given it away. It's a small investment that usually helps to seal the deal on a gig. I then make sure to have another set in my pocket at that gig; so when those execs tell others about it, (and they do), and ask me to perform it; I can. It's not a bad little trick and the suggested routine is entertaining. Again, in my humble opinion. |

For the collector of Clarence Miller, fine hand crafted wooden items; Clarence has begun making his ownnew version of a color changing spots paddle. Very thin, extremely well crafted.
