I have done this hundreds of times for kids, several times I did it with over 200 kids at once. . .

What I do is get a bunch of 3 oz dixie cups, white glue, borax, craft sticks, zip lock bags, and food coloring.

Gallon jug (A) contains 1/3 water + 2/3 white glue + a spoonfull of food coloring

Gallon jug (B) one cup of borax and fill it up with water shake it well you should end up with some borax on the bottom that does not desolve

Each kid gets:

1/2 a dixie cup of the stuff from jug A
1/2 a dixie cup of the stuff from jug B
one zip lock bag
one craft stick
one paper napkin

"Okay everybody are you ready? . . . . good. . . pick up your wood stick and drip it into the cup with the glue, then take it out and dip it in the other cup, then back and forth over and over again. . . "

The kids will end up with big green (or any other color) snotty looking stands of perfect looking green goo hanging from their craft sticks.

When the kids are done have them put the goo into the zip lock bag so that they can take it home.

Just pouring the two solutions together rarely works well and it not nearly as much fun.

As said before you can use the dissolved PVA solution and fluorescent colouring and create a more clear glowing slime see link for kit. The PVA solution take along time to make as it takes time to dissolve so a special magnetic stir comes in handy. You can buy the solution already made.

Almost forgot Borax is a cleanig agent look in chemist, industrial kitchen suppliers and eco stores.
