What is the name of the silk penetration Rick Thomas does in his dove act? His assistant holds a white silk vertically from opposite corners and he holds a red one horozontaly from the corners and they pass through each other. I am looking to purchase instructions or a book that has this.

I don't guess I've seen Rick do it, but I would think it would be similar to a Silk Through Mike Stand that uses a r***. Look in Rice's Encyclopedias.

Hi Matt:
Yes, you need a utility device to do this effect. You can do many others effects, as well. In addition to Rice's Encyclopedia, you can purchase a small book by Albenice called "Reel Magic." The little utility device is expensive - a good one will cost you $75.00 or more. I hope this helps you. Here's one from Stevens Magic: http://www.stevensmagic.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=8844 Ron |

I can understand the reason his back is being turned. But I think it is too many times, ruining the showmanship.

See if you can find some old Paul Diamond instructions on this. I think it was in his lectures in the 70s.
