I received my zibit from Doug Higley and it is beautiful, if you have one you know what I mean. It far exceeds my expectation and I know I can make money with this and his system. I will show it to some friends, after they pay me $1, and let you know their reactions. I am going to show this for the first time the first Saturday in October at a small swap meet. Then at some bigger events with a lot more people. I know I will make my cost back by the second weekend.
Thanks Doug Big Jeff |

You might make it the first weekend. Many do.
Beware of 'friends'...there is a different dynamic at work. The most important moment for you to remember is the FIRST glimps you had of it when you opened the box. The is the ONLY time you will have seen it the way your customers will see it. You obviously were impressed at that moment. They will be too for the most part. Remember that...so when down the road it gets a bit passe and you may question whether the public will still accept it or not...you know they will. Remember your 'friends' do not know the secrets that were revealed to you...maybe they will be supportive, maybe not but what matters is that at the Swap Meet you have it together and present it properly. Also the bigger Fairs do not necessarily mean giant successes, maybe yes, maybe no...many variables...but this little show works like a dream at Flea Markets and the small fairs. Be careful of some of the smaller fairs that are the artsy fartsy type. WAY too much money to set up and acrowd that may have their collective heads up their butt...fairs for instance that are specific...like a Chilli cookoff...one of my biggest DEATHS was at one of those...lots of people but they were there for...guess what...Chilli? Yep. But you'll work it out..follow the book I sent and you'll do fine. Very glad you like the 'Thing'. Doug

This weekend I will finish my signs. Printed the 10ft banner at work last week on the plotter, just need to build the frame, print the other signs, oh man just so many things to do..
It will be worth it.. And yes I am following your plan to the T, Thanks Doug |

You are a builder. Taht is good. Most just get an ez-up and let the printer do the signs. I used to build/make/throw together mine as well. I always woyund up kicking my self for not getting an ez-up or it's like.
My favorite thing I put together was on my Ranger Pick-up. Just drive in to the space set it up and let 'em look for a buck. Sweet.

I already have the ezup, just need to make the frame for sign.
I actualy have 2 10ft ezups and 3 10x15ft. The 10x15 make a nice stage area with wings and back stage area. |

Thank you Doug for sending me the Zibit you did and not sending it to Jeff or Btedeski. The one you sent me is so much nicer. Whew. Thanks again. Doug. Mine started making money before it even arrived. In fact, by the time the postman brought it to the door, I had made my money back and put a few dollars away for my kids' educations. Nothing can top that.
Jeremy P.s. Jeff and Btedeski, I am sure the ones Doug sent you is almost as good as mine and it sure is nice to have the second / third best one out there. Well, third and fourth if you count Kondini's--but that one is...well...let's just say that I heard that it might not be a real Higley Zibit! (Just don't tell Kondini because I think Doug might have put one over on him.) Anyways, enjoy it in good health.

No. His pseudo-son is made from a plastic material and is somewhere in a jar in Tacoma.

Sorry...but they are ALL uglier than an Elenore Roosevelt blowup doll.
Jeremy's IS the best 'cause that's what he made me say when I made it...otherwise he wouldn't send the money...so not to lie, what I did was, make a couple out of oatmeal and mashed hot dogs and then his. So...yeah...his was the best of the batch. I didn't get this old being 'slow'. Jeff's is "ok" and the one I sent to Tedeski could only be sold to a Clown... So don't fight over your ugly kids...they are all ridiculous...especially Brett's. And Weiss...I got you beat...it made money before I made it.

oatmeal and mashed hot dogs So now we know your secret.. Or was that your dinner. Take care and get some sleep |

Probably dinner. Just difusing Jeremy's attempt to one up the less fortunate souls who did not get the 'Best piece I ever made' that he in his fervor hallucinates he has.
Kidding aside, I was asked about my favorite piece and thinking on it, I really don't know. Certain ones stand out in my mind though. There is one Mer that I made for myself to show at a small Pasadena fair. Bobby Reynolds eventually wound up with it and then it found it's way to my friend George the Giant. Along it's travels it had been deformed and defaced a bit for whatever reason. I offered George to do what I could to refurb it...I fixd a few things but not too much could be done because of some wierd substance that had been sprayed all over it but in sending it back to George it got wrecked in the mail due to rough handling. The really old pieces I had done were a bit fragile over time (unlike the newer stuff which is near bullet proof)...anyway the Giant was heart broken so I offered to fix it and he sent it back again. I did the repair and reshipped back to George and once again (something about bakersfield postal workers) it was broken up in the box. One of these days I need to drive up to Bakersfield with some tools and 'stuff' and re build it on site so the PO doesn't get to work their wonders. Some of us take our 'Higley's' seriously. My other favorite is a miniature Elephant and a Mer that is on the site that looks like it is sleeping. Sometimes real magic happens and that was one of those times. Also the Mer I did for Kondini and the Worm as well. (Both made History) That was an Atomic Worm I made for myself to show but I never got back on the short Flea market road. That worm is on the site as well and in the Roal Tour page. Don't know if Ken (Kondini) kept that piece or sold it to Roslyn. I lose track easily. :-( Mostly I don't start out to do art really...just make a 'thing' that can make a person some cash and not get them run out of town on a rail. That you guys consider it 'art' is very flattering and much appreciated. Thanks all for that. Doug

I have a Higley piece that has caused quite a commotion whenever I show it. In the south people think it is a chupacabra...in the north they just stand there with their mouths hanging open.
I may be prejudiced since I own it but I think it is the best sideshow piece I have ever seen, in person or in a book/web site. I have had cops nose-to-nose with it...they don't want to believe it is real but can't help what their own eyes see. It is so real...I'll finish this later, I gotta' go feed it. When it is hungry it wants to eat NOW. |

I forgot about that one...yeah that's a choice piece...
Looks real, but a real what?

Same here, scientists, professors, Department of Forestry, Border Patrol, cops, State inspectors, experts of all kinds, and of course those darling 14 year old girls and boys who know everything and loudly exclaim their opinions to everyone.... (but of course they can't even find their state on a map!) Ha!
Home for just a couple of days folks, then its off to Arizona with a stop in Pahrump, NV inbetween. Good luck to all of you out there and be safe... The Professor (and Maryann) |
