A quick game...
You are a customer of the 1st Fake Bank of Australia and you need to do some online banking. Just by looking at these URL, which sites would you suggest are fake sites created by phishers who want to steal your details, and which are real. 1) http://www3.netbank.fakebank.com 2) http://www.fakebank.com 3) https://www.fakebank.com 4) http://0xca.0x74.0x44/www.fakebank.com 5) http://web-ao.da-uk.fakebank.com/ 6) https://signup.fakebank.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn 7) http://www.fakebank.money.com/ 8) http:/www.345.456.0x.fakebank.com/ 9) https:///www3.money.fake-bank.com 10) http://fakebank.com (here is a hint. Number 2 is a 'real' site) |

Everything except #2, #3, and #10 would be the phishing sites. Presumably, accessing addresses #2 and #10 would redirect you to the secure (https) URL at #3.

Thought I was so darned smart ... just got phished! Had to hurry and change my eBay password. Guess I'm lucky I was awake enough to realize I'd tripped up ... it was pretty well disguised. |
