Roughly speaking, well at least this guy looks rough, but anyway this is a standard shuffle explained.
http://www.howtoshuffle.com/how-to-shuffle-poker.htm The strip is usually done in about six rather than three. I thought it would be handy to look at this. If your doing shuffles with extra cuts and so on it will not be normal in a formal game and players will notice its not.

Yes that's actually a pretty good shuffle. He keeps everything nice and low and tight. But the way he pushes those packets together looks like he's building in for a push through shuffle. lol.
I like to strip between 4-6 times. I notice he dosen't box the deck at all. If you box the deck you may be able to put a few people to sleep for a false running cut later. I like the sequence box, riffle, riffle, box, riffle, riffle, strip, riffle and cut. That gives a nice mix in very short order.

Funny. Because the shuffle is so tight it looks and sounds like a push through. |

LOL! I didn't even realize there was sound, that is funny. But, yeah, like I said it looks like he's establishing the action for a push through, the corners kick so far out.

The point is this is a casino shuffle sequence and is also used in high stakes formal private games.
The players in such games are very familiar with it due to the fact that they see it constantly in casino’s where they often play. Any deviation from the normal sequence arouses suspicion. If you can do stuff and still keep exactly to the normal sequence, well then that is obviously good. You also have a wash shuffle before that sequence starts now again in some games and every time in some games. These restrictions make life a little difficult for the cardsharp. When players go broke it’s quite common for them to do some dealing for tips so they get some dough. So quite a few players have dealt in formal games in their time and know the normal procedure swell. They seasoned players but that they know anything of manipulation a great deal of them know nothing but they all know the procedures, well lets a lot of them do anyway. What I have just said is not carved in stone more like putty but basically that is the score. I am sure one can find games where that is not so but is so as I know it here.

I got your point, it's a good one. I don't think a lot of people are aware of a proper shuffling procedure. I seen people (including myself) using similar sequences in low stakes games. The only difference is that in low stakes games the procedures are not strictly enforced, usually.
