Just a quickie: if anyone requires any hydrochloric acid in the UK (and let's face it, who doesn't?) without getting Special branch round to investigate a bomb plot, then Chulmleigh Hardware will sell you 6 litres for just over £20 - it's sold under its old name of 'Spirit of Salt'.
